Anything that isnt a .22 idk what they were on when it was decided a small-medium game round would work good for killing men.

I would have voted for #'s 2 as a common 'battle' rifle or 3 as 'special services' rifle.
I have (or have had) 2 varients of AR-one in .223 and one in .308 and 3 of the AK/varients, not icluding my Dragunov. The ARs are too light and jam too quickly when dirty. The bullets 'keyhole' on paper and thus, will happen in the body. That is what makes the .223 so effective, it's 'bouncing' around in the body. The .308 is about the same as the 7.62 and is better suited for distance shooting. Still, the AR family of guns make it that you have to do constant maintenence to keep them running. Sure you can carry more ammo ihnto battle...but that's negated by the fact you are constantly cleaning it.... The AKs are just freaking work horses. My one rifle has (no lie) almost 100 cases of ammo through it (10,000 rounds) and it has never been cleaned. I'm trying to see at what round it will finally "jam" and it hasn't done it yet. The Dragunov is based upon and is a modified AK and is the "sniper" and anti tank version from yester-year. The 7.62 x 54 is about the same as a .308 and with the right projectile, makes a way bigger hole than the .223...which is harder to patch because there is "material" missing...not just "torn apart" like a tumbling round....

AK was only designed to be effective to 200 yards at that distance one will hit a man sized target in the first shot.
