Which barrel?

Hey, I've had my rodeo for about a year now and I'm looking to upgrade some minor parts..

I'm debating between a Proto 1 piece 12in. barrel, or a Smartparts teardrop 12in. I don't really care for the quietness the teardrop claims to provide, I'm more interested in the accuracy of my marker. Will a barrel upgrade from stock really increase accuracy noticeably? I play woodsball as much as I can with my friends. If any of you have any experience with either of these or have opinions, please post..thanks!

Yes there will be an increase IF you match the bore with you barrel. If the barrel is large & you use small bore paint, wont be much better than stock.

Okay, let me explain a little bit more...I don't spend $50 on paint, I go to Walmart and grab whatever paint is there that sells 2,000 for around $30. does this mean that getting a new barrel is basically pointless for me?

Not pointless. Were in the same boat about paint. I havent seen or been around a proto barrel so I dont really know anything about it. Either one sound work just fine for you.

If you have a chance to test them go for it before you buy.

If I were you I would look for a Freak Junior that way I can match the paint up with the bore better. I'm not a big fan of the aluminum Freak but I would suggest any type of barrel kit over a one peice barrel such as the teardrop.

What's the difference between a barrel kit and a 1 piece barrel? What are the advantages? Also, how should my paintballs fit through the barrel? Roll through easily? Fit snug? Let me also add that I'm not looking to spend over $35 on a barrel, I'm only 15 =/.

A barrel kit comes with many "backs" (the back half of the barrel) so you can change the barrels id for what paint u shoot.
A single piece barrel is similar to a kit but the back cant be changed and its usually .689 meaning that paint smaller than ~.686 will be less accurate and paint larger than .689 will break in you barrel alot.

Paint shouldnt quite roll out you should have to blow the paint through the barrel but not blow hard. Look around ebay you might be able to get a decent kit for that much. I have heard horrible things about ko/knockout/tiller barrels.
