So now what??

ok, so i got a new computer the other day (HP 8109, with 3 gb memory, and a 500 gb hdd, and a 2.6ghz amd dual core), but in the last day, the cpu usage has been hovering at around 50, even staying at 90 for extended times. Any idea whats causing it?
