Alkaline is better because they have much higher milliamperage for the same volts, which means it'll last longer. Unless you've got money to burn, then you could get Lithium batteries, but they are seriously expensive. I just use regular Duracell, they work great, I think any name brand battery would be fine.

I've used Duracell Ultra's for many years now. I used them in my Eggy back then, and they would last forever many, many, many weeks!
I still used them in my Reloader B and my guns - I like them that much.

Yup, just alkaline, but with a bit more juice to it. Unfortunately, it seems to be harder and harder to find them locally. You might have better luck, though.
