Beginning Guitar Help

I play drums in my high school band so I know how to read music and stuff but I want to learn how to play guitar now.I know some of you play guitar, so I figured I would ask your help. I want some help and maybe some sites with instructional videos? Thanks for looking

Well theres a good way and a "bad" way to learning the guitar. You can learn by reading Music Scores, or by reading Music Tablatures. Tablatures is the easiest way to learn, and it's quite hard to transfer from tabs to sheet music, trust me. So go to your local instrument store, and pick up a book that puts everything on normal score notes, instead of Tablatures. Tablatures are basically numbers for every fret for each string, Sheet music uses notes and sharps/flats. It will be hard to learn, but it will be the most rewarding.

If you want to learn to play tablatures, simply visit http://www.ultimate-guitar.net and look for an article about how to read tablatures, or simply Google it. Once you learn it, it's easy to pick up, but for reading tabs, you really have to listen to the music, get to know the fret board with your fingers and without your eyes, because they won't tell you how long each note is, or what-not.
