The Best barrel someone can get is one that has inserts. Paint to bore match means accuracy, less gas used ad the ball is a tight fit.

Also longer barrels give a flatter trajectory for longer, but does cause velocity drops as there is excess friction.

And a PB needs 8" to reach optimum velocity and 4-6 inches for guidance.

I shoot a 12" freak on my spyder xtra and couldn't be happier. Pick up a used freak kit, you can do so on a budget and they shoot amazing!

For general play I like a 14" or 16" but I found a J&J Edge Elite kit for $90us with 5 different sized backs and three different fronts that give you 12/14/16"
lengths..... If you match your paint, a 12" barrel can shoot better/further than a 16". Just remember, when switching barrels, re-chrono your marker.

I've gone from shooting 275 with a 12" to 320 with a 14" kit.

A well designed/made barrel will not impart a lot of drag even if its longer.

barrel length between 12,14, and 16 inches will not create any noticeable difference in how far or accurately you shoot.
