hello.
i have been using Co2 with my paintball markers ever since i started. i am now buying a new gun and i am thinking of switching to compressed air. could some one tell me what they think i should do. (switch to compressed air or to stay at Co2) AND: if i could get acces to an air compressor, would i be able to fill up my tank from the compressor? Thank you. jared02 |

HPA is the best upgrade you can do...MANY people are going to tell you that. Unless you get a high pressure compressor, which is a lot of $$$, you can't fill your tank up. You can get a SCUBA tank and fill your smaller tank with that, but it can be kind of expensive. You have to buy a SCUBA tank and then a HPA fill station. Then you have to figure out how you can get the SCUBA tank filled.

The air compressor won't work...if it is a basic shop type air compressor...I think they max out at like 200 psi...and your tank is anywhere from 3000 to 5000 psi.
What I have been doing is getting my SCUBA tank filled at my local Fire Department...which they luckily have the fitting. Once the SCUBA is filled, I hook up my HPA fill station... here is what mine is... http://www.actionvillage.com/is-bin/...D3p2% 2elA_2t . I have a stainless line coming off of that to make it easier. Connect the fill station to your tank and so on... Hope that makes more sense. The paintball shops use the expensive stuff! Try a search for paintball compressors....

the only con to using hpa/nitro is the bottles cost more and hold less shots unless you get the 4500psi kind. a 68/4500 would be comparable to a 20oz

Actually, shot count isn't an issue when switching between the two forms of propulsion. At least, not that big a deal.
The bottles do cost more because of the thickness involved, or the carbon fiber that's used. However, the shot count is comparable to Co2. A 68/3000 psi tank will get about 680+ shots on average which is about what a 9 - 12 oz Co2 tank will get you. A 68/4500 tank will get you, on average, 1020 shots, which is close to a 20 oz Co2 tank. Now, these modern day high efficiency machine guns can get MANY more shots than these averages, and last I noticed, a Tippman A-5 got about 400 shots off a 20 oz Co2 tank, so you have to take into consideration the gun being used.

Probably anywhere from 500 - 700 shots. Co2 has a lot of variables with it - temperature of the air, moisture, whether you get a full fill or not, how fast you're shooting, etc. But, I'd say this is a pretty accurate estimate.

yeah pretty much what i thought i was dry firing in my backyard as fast as i could and got at least 500 but the velocity was turned all the way down so im figuring 500 if i shoot slow mainly because im gonna have to use more air for the loose fitting nelson hot spot i just bought a case of
