Default Outshooting my hopper?

I was at the field yesterday and decided to try out some fast shooting after really breaking in my bolt. I am using a Ricochet Apache Assult loader (claims 20bps) but whenever I would start walking the trigger, I would get several dry fires in a row. No chopps though. I was wondering if the blowback was causing this to happen or if maybe the hopper isn't as fast as claimed.
