You could put extra pods in the bucket with the lids open and they would fill that way. Then what doesnt go in the pods would still be in the bucket.

I was gonna say instead of using a canvas use something thick like a comforter off a bed and why don't you make the bottom a kind of funnel that all the balls would eventually roll into the center and drop right back into a pod or something, that would be really nice, and if you had alot of time on your hands you could probably find a way to make it collapsible for easy assembly and easily to tear down to put back inside and store conveniently.
