Nice I was thinking about getting a XSi, there was one on PbN with a 50 1.8 for like $400 I think. The only thing I don't like about Canon so far is that you can't make multiple exposures straight from the camera but oh well.

Are you referring to AEB? Exposure bracketing? The XSI is fully capable of it so long as you read the manual and set it properly. I hate it, though. Takes three frames to do it, and that takes time I don't usually have. Unless... you're referring to the ability to shoot multiple frames in the same image? Not many DSLR's are capable of that, I can't actually think of any off the top of my head.

I'd also be very wary of a deal like that XSi, as they typically run $400-550 for the body alone, and that's a $100 lens. I think I heard that Taco was finally letting his 40D go, 650 or something like that with the grip, batteries, body, charger, focusing screens... pretty good deal if you could hurry. He usually takes better care of his stuff than almost anyone else I know.

I was think of multiple frames in one image. For me D40 you could take pictures and then combine them from the actual camera. You have to shoot in the right mode though. Yeah I would be kinda careful I for one would probably just buy new for the warrenty and all that.

A lot of this is going right over my head... I'm planning on buying a photography book and doing research on lessons and stuff on the computer until my senior year, when i can take photography II at my school. i'm signed up for photo I this next year, but that's film photography; digital is covered in II. I did a google search and found an average price of around... $550-$650 New. I plan on buying a body+lens combo so I can get to taking pics soon after I get the camera.

I'm FINALLY actually making progress on reading the online GIMP manual, and did my first small project the other day: LINK to photobucket
And lastly...
I GOT THE JOB!! I think i mentioned it in the GDT, but i'm so happy. I'm going to stay at KFC, working like.. once every 2 weeks to stay on the payroll so i can work 1-2 days a week during the school year, because I dont know how many hours this new job will give me once school starts. I'm so excited

PBK, just go to www.photography-on-the.net and peruse their forums (you will need to register there). They have so much knowledge that your cranium will burst if you try to take it all in.

Started a blog a few weeks ago. This last week, it's gone from 91 (Aug. 1) to 324 (today) hits, counting mine. I figuire that's pretty good. ~33/day. Girlfriend's mom (who i consider a close friend) said she was impressed. my mom likes it, i helped a random person with my writing. it's a success, but that doesn't mean i'm done.
