hey guys, i have this silly question that i cant get out of my mind. its about the rupture disk...wut exactly happens when an air tank or co2 tank overfills? does it blow out or just leak? ive heard some people say spares are always nice to have just in case of an incident...
i know it prevents explosions by releasing the pressure but i never really knew wut happens. couldnt get this stupid question outta my mind ![]()

Burst discs are designed so that, rather than your tank blowing up, a little metal disc inside the burst disc thing pops out or breaks at the specified pressure, either 3k or 1.8k for co2 tanks. When the disc pops out, pressure is vented out of the two holes you can see on the body of it.
Usually the only time they would ever pop is when you leave a tank in direct sunlight for a long time.

Well i have had 3 tanks pop there burst disk and its not very funny.
It sprays CO2 every where and it froze anything close to it. It only happened to me when the guy at the feild was goofing around and over filled them.
