This maybe a little dumb of me to ask but why a nitrogen tanks so expensive?

Its not the bottle, its the reg on the bottle that makes it so expensive.

Not really. The reg is the cheaper part of the formula. The Carbon for the carbon wrapped tank is what makes it expensive.
