Break beam eyes:there is an emitter on one side of the chamber and a receiver on the other. When the beam is "broken" by a ball the gun fires
Bounce beam:there is an emitter and receiver in one unit on one side of the chamber the beam "bounces" off a chambered ball and hits the receiver allowing the gun to fire. Break beam is the best of the two even though it requires twice the drilling and twice the precision when the holes are drilled

Yes, companies like Insane Pain Sports will install eyes for you.

There is also a couple people on here that can drill probably just as well as IPS. I'm sure they're a bunch of people on this forum who wouldn't mind doing it for you.
