Actually, you made me just realize something. You can just pop the old piece back on mine as it is just a locking plastic piece that pops on and off. If it was metal, and you dremeled it, obviously, you couldn't do the same, but there is no reason I can't snap it back onto the base, as you could just pop it back off for servicing! Can't believe I never thought to do it! It'll also give a little better protection against impact/dirt etc...!

thats a good idea...i think that mag looks better than any RAP4 x chamber.

I found this on Amazon.com its airsoft but its cheap...I wonder if it would work if you gutted it?

Mojo... The only thing I don't like is the trigger frame. It doesn't seem to fit as nicely as everything else.

Have you thought about a Spyder Classic trigger frame? One with an M16 handle? It would definitely flow better IMO. Other then that, I love it. I've been thinking about modding a mag to fit mine myself.

Thank you, Zee. I was excited to see the results, myself. Like I said, I am new to modding as of just a few months ago, and was worried I was going to make it look like a real eyesore. That mod is so easy though, there really is no way to screw it up unless you're just being plain careless.

Anyway, It should work (the airsoft mag that is). But, I would definitely recommend reinforcing it with epoxy paste so it doesn't break if it gets shot, or if the gun drops hard when you go prone etc...(Actually, I think I used that exact magazine 1st to experiment with...lol)

I got a real magazine for ten bucks at an army navy surplus store though, and didn't have to wait for it, or pay shipping either...so keep that in mind. Ar-15 and m-16 magazines are common as dirt.

heh, i used to be able to get them for free... until my dad decided to get an AR-15

but the airsoft mag will work, given that its the right dimensions. an AR/M4 mag is almost the exact width of the spyder body. unfortunately it won't slip over a standard spyder VA..

yeah, Ace, have to agree on that one. Although I do like the single trigger, the contoured handgrip isn't *exactly* right. The slim angled M-16 grip would look a little bit better. Maybe it is nit-picking a tad, but I agree. It's just not exactly like a m-4 handle. It does, however, match the carry handle, which I liked, but again, that also is not exactly like a m-4 so...we'll see how it evolves. They never really are truly finished are they?

I will come across one soon, I'm sure, and change it when the time is right. I am planning on doing a tec nine mod after I save up enough money to buy another mr1, so I might use the 'ergonmicky' bob long one for that.
