Just a suggestion, never use dishsoap on the lense... it can weaken it.

You can take mineral spirits on a rag and rub it over the mask to get it super clean. (Once again, do not run it across the lense)

Hot water should get everything off, but that's weird I've never had any problem with any smell.

What in the world kind of paint are you using that stinks so bad you can't get rid of the smell?

I use NOTHING but COLD water on my lense and mask (dishwasher ftw! Sans lens, of course!) and it doesn't smell like paint - 3 years old and not a single odor!

if you used dish soap on your lense, buy a new one before you use your mask again. only use cold water on your lense, nothing more.

Yeah the dish soap will deteriate the lens, and could possibly break under contact.

well i will only use water from now on the soap wasnt on it more than a minute im sure ill be fine. we were all using hotspot because it was CHEAP! beat $30 a case just be careful on color selection (some of it is damn near clear or a dark color). even though it has HUGE seams its still pretty acurate 8 inches at 100 feet from my messed up progressive.
