both the ION and VS are good markers for what you pay for. but i had made mention that an ION uses a certain mechanical operation that is way different than a VS. basically, the VS operates LIKE A STANDARD SPYDER as a blowback. the VS uses springs to propel the hammer into the valve pin... and a valve spring to close the valve. the only difference for the VS versus Spyder is the new valve design that lowers the operating PSI.

I know how they both work, but I'm more curious as to how they feel in comparison, as in kick, and weight etc.

Waves hand at computer screen ala Obi-Wan

The rest of us (with glazed over eyes): Yes, we will save and buy your VS3.

Might have worked on me but I picked up a VS2 from Oregon Paintball on Saturday.

and that there is the hardest question to answer as we all have different opinions/wants/likes/needs.

if you want to throw in Phantom along with these markers, then MY opinion is that the Phantom is better.

just between the ION and the VS, i could say that the VS is better. but Dre could chime in and say that the ION is better.

it is really what you are looking in a marker.

the VS is so new that the quirks are still not know. one quirk could be the lack of fire modes. but, then again, if you are tourny, then this doesn't matter about modes as your marker needs to be locked in semi-auto. so, right there is a need/want that one needs to weigh. course, there is a board that will be released soon.

the bottom line is, it is personal preference. i made the review so that you can see everything about the VS. at least, most everything. look for an equal review for the ION and make an E-Educated decision. the first E stands for electronic if you cannot hold and try one out. as that really will tell you how they will feel.
