It depends on how much you are willing to spend.
If you are going for the milsim look id spend the money on the MR1. If you wanted a more speedball oriented gun, then id definitely say to spend the dough on a new marker.

Well like Hossy said it depends on your style. If your into tournament or speedball then just get a better gun but if your more on the side of woodsball or scenario then go ahead and start upgrading your MR1.

You may want to rethink that.
How about you list out what you plan to get and we can make reccomendations?

if you still want the scenario gun stick with the mr1, but if you want it faster just get a new hopper and electronic frame

MR1's are like Tonka Trucks, they never ever break. You have tons of upgrades for the MR1, sky is the limit. Go to the thread "Show your MR1" and get some ideas from there, as far as internals, go with a Derlin bolt, change the velocity spring, the expansion valve, polish the internals etc.. As far as barrels don't buy anything longer than 14", is terrible for mobility and i just a waste of air. Hope this gives you an idea...

If you wanna go REALLY mil-sim it'll take some elbow grease, but, it's worth it. Check my sig concerning the MR1 sniper rifle.
