Are fiber wrapped tanks lighter than aluminum tanks?

wait im confused i thought there was steel tanks, and then aluminum wrapped in carbon fiber. So theres also a plain aluminum tank?
but in any case, carbon fiber is definitely a lighter material than aluminum.
