Here is my desktop at work.

holy crap... you guys need to just make a folder that says "**** ill never use" and start actually seeing your backround instead of seeing 900 icons...

you mean like this... (and my task menu is cluttered, i organized it into groups. I also have the dissapearing task bar as well.)

i hate the disappearing task bar, it feels like im chasing something. i have 4 things on my desktop and its plenty. firefox link, ie (my dad hates my firefox theme but its my comp so he just uses ie and i keep it there so he wont b**** about it) recycle bin, and a folder with sub folders similar to what bigred has on his desktop. i keep stuff on my desktop if its a temporarily over used prgram or stuff and eventually it moves into the old desktop junk folder

btw all you losers with ms office shortcuts... get open office, free ftw

I use a lot of different files on my comp, and most of those I need to reach easily, so they have their own folders on my desktop. In those folders, they have sub-folders so it's all organized and stuff from there. I guess I just am too lazy to go into one more folder than I need to.

Yeah I need to organize mine actually, there's alot of junk I never use.

my desktop isnt a folder, it has a folder that i consider my desktop, people get on my computer when they are here, see how neat it is, and dag-nab-it, i feel smarter than them.
