Talking Camo Spyder XTRA

http://community.livejournal.com/pai...rs/182990.html

Work is on going...I'm making my own stock and e-trigger, getting rid of the original grip location altogether (the foregrip/expansion chamber will then be the main grip):

Original plans.

Current work.

It made it through 8 or so hours of rough woodsball last Saturday without a scratch (thick brush...it's a private unregulated field), but of course that's only one day so we'll have to see how it holds up long term.

I used Dupli-Color self-etching primer which already was a nice light olive green. I didn't sand or otherwise prep the surface except to clean, dry, and mask the internals. Over that I used Krylon Camouflage Olive and Khaki and Rust-Oleum flat black (just 'cause I have too much rustoleum black around my shop). I painted it over about a week, a day between colors, and a couple days after the last coat before taking it to the game.

I haven't baked it... The Krylon can doesn't say enamal anywhere on it so I'm not sure I can/should bake it. I'm not sure I care though...I like my gear to develop a bit of "lived in" personality. Kinda of like ripped blue jeans. :-)

i was reading what you plan on doing with this gun and it could work. look around in the b/s/t section for a cheap ESP frame, you'll probably find one or around 40-50$. gut the frame mount the board and solinoid in your aluminum stock so it can trip the sear. then run the wires from the board to the micro switch forward to where you want to mount the trigger. should actually be pretty simple. good luck and keep us updated.
