My buddy scored this weekend.... and when I say scored, I mean many little Asian children cried.





He pulled up to my place of work, gave my boss and I bagels and told me that I'll get a kick of what he just picked up. I walked outside to put in a battery and just about dropped it on my foot. You better believe I installed that battery faster than I have ever done before.

Needless to say, I had an importgasm. I touched it.


I seriously can't wait to ride in this thing... or drive it if he will give me the pleasure rofl.

I had the 3rd gen 4Runner in my avatar and upgraded to a 4th gen 4Runner for a few months. I got fed up with the payment and ended up downgrading to the Jeep. I'm not someone who's big on frills, so I like the Jeep's simplicity a lot (it doesn't even have a CD player). I particularly like the fact that it has a solid axle in the front and is so easy to work on.

That being said, I would've bought another 3rd gen 4Runner if I could have found one.

getting rid of my 89 240 soon. California is giving me 1000 dollars for it, won't pass smog next year anyways.

Looking at :

85 and older volvo 240's.
88+ civic hatchbacks
67-70 vw bugs. Would go older if they're already 12v converted. Gahhh!

i wouldnt mind downgrading to a jeep eventually, but right now i still need the hauling ability of my truck. still havent gotten new tires yet, but these worn bridgestones are doing surprisingly well in the snow. we get about 2" a day when it snows.

I love this thing. It's giving me some problems, but they were brought on by me installing a 3 inch lift. The best thing is parts are absolutely dirt cheap.

I installed some 3 degree axle shims today to reduce driveline vibrations and fixed my leaf packs. When I did the install I accidentally mis-ordered the leaves so the AAL was not providing max lift.

Tomorrow I drop my rear driveshaft to install new u-joints.

Next week I will be installing an adjustable trackbar, installing new tie-rod with new ends, and trying to set my toe/alignment. After that it's back to preventative maintenance.
