Welcome to the forum!

There should be a "knob" on the back of the marker (lower tube) if you screw it in, it should increase the velocity. There may be a small set screw on the knob that you may have to back out to screw it in.

This might help:

oh hold on, is the set screw the silver one that is in the gun, not on the actual thing you spin?

The set screw should be on the knob itself, if it's still there. If the knob is turned in all the way and you're still not getting a high enough velocity to play safely then you could try replacing the main spring. Try a Maddmann spring kit (if Maddmann are still around).

the spring is fine. I do not have a set screw and the knob does not turn either way to tighten or loosen.

I would say that you're going to have to get a spring kit to get the velocity up on it. I used a Madmann kit when I used my spyders. Any spring kit will work though...
