Actually, I ALWAYS have Firefox and IE open at the same time. I work with both, usually multiple times a day. IE (especially 8)isn't that bad at all, it's just not pretty like the other browsers are. There's a reason most work places use it after all...

Just get the IE Tab app for FF. It renders your tab the way IE does it.

Work places use it because it comes with Windows. That's it. IE is a HORRIFIC browser. Most websites have to use special code just to get pages to render correctly in IE.
That being said, IE9 was a huge improvement.

![]() It really sucks when a webpage works and looks good in every browser but IE, then you remember you forgot to put all the extra code for IE in your CSS and have to go back and fix it all. I've considered putting a script to detect what browser someone was using, and if it came back IE, having them directed to a page that said, "I apologize but this website does not support IE, mainly because for some reason or another Microsoft decided to make it the only browser that requires different coding to make a webpage look right." Then having links below that for downloading Firefox, Chrome, Safari...

Are there still sites that only show IE correctly? Awhile ago there were a couple I had trouble with (hence why I got the app)

There are very few sites that may require some antiquated ActiveX type junk that may not work in other browsers, but pretty much everyone wised up with the whole IE6 fiasco. You're going to pretty much start seeing Chrome and Webkit (Safari,Opera) rule the roost, I think.

See, I don't get that at all about IE. I never have a problem with it - it looks fine to me, it does what I want it to do, and personally, most work places Ive been in say that they use it, not just because it came with windows, but because it works fine enough for what is necessary at the workplace. Granted, none of them were IT, but it really does what it needs to do, so I don't understand the hate. Personally, I do like FF better for some reason, but I don't get how IE is so bad.
Oh well. No harm, no foul!
