t-shirt/paintball launcher
ok, so im in a small rock band at my school...i was thinking it would be awesome if i would make a t-shirt launcher for us (and then i could use it for paintball on the side!!
 ) my question is, how much pressure can pvc pipe withstand?? i know there are different grades/thicknesses of pvc, but how high do they go?? 300psi?? here is what ive got in mind...  by the way, the co2 tank has an on/off on it please let me know what you think

or a version of it
problem with your design is that you are using a ball valve which requires that you manually open and close the valve itself....this will allow a tremendous amout of air to escape ...but if you want to try my design but take the quick change off and replace it with the remote nipple "hehe" but put teflon around it and tap a guage into the steel pipe that is my expansion chamber

i see your point...the "quick change" is that silver thing right?
but...i will have an on/off on the tank, so i can let however much pressure i want into the pvc, shut off the tank then when i open the valve only the gas thats already inside the chamber will go. but the more i think about it...the more i like the idea of the steel expansion chamber...

ok... im really liking your idea there...
just a few questions... the bigger tube is... pvc, right? the valve is pretty small in diameter...does it let enough air through fast enough to get the projectile moving fast enough? thanks... i am really taking a liking to your idea!! thanks for posting it up!!

nerf vortex over 200 ft.
DO NOT USE PVC AS EXPANSION CHAMBER!!!!!!!!! The smalller tubes are Galvanized Steel....i will look up more specs for you....now that you say on/off....bercause i cant read it will work just fine

You dont want to use PVC for the expansion chamber because it can and will explode with sharp pvc shrapnel. It's very dangerous. go with a design similer to XSivs and stay safe I have seen a number of pictures from people making there own paintball launchers only to receive a trip to the hospital.
