nice. took a semester of shop in HS and we did some autocad. i can do it, but i dont have the patience to do anything THAT detailed.

as for the building, it looks very retro european. reminds me of the apartment complexes in germany.

chris, they're single story apartments... ergo, each apt. on each floor has one of everything.

If I was going to critique anything, it would be that big a** wall facing the road. Have a plan in place to say what your goal with it is. Local artists, climbing flowers, dramatic lighting. Something.

I agree. It was the one down fall of the design. On those windows I proposed to use a wood siding screen which I have detailed out in elevation. I just couldn't figure out how to do it in revit. But it is still quite plain. The ground floor is inset about 8' and they have their own individual patios with columns that give the feeling of a front porch. Across the street is all residential so I was trying to give the building more of a residential feel.

Thank you, and yes I have. I use SketchUp to do all of my mass modeling now instead of doing it by hand. I can crank out 2-4 mass models in the time it would take me to do one physical model by hand. Its a good program if you know how to use it correctly and if the less formal look is your thing. I feel that for a final presentation it is too informal and sketchy looking.
