My "HotWheels" Kilt - FINALLY FINISHED!!!!
IT'S DONE!! SCROLL DOWN TO THE BOTTOM!!!! Here's the "almost finished" pics of my "HotWheels" Kilt I'm sewing (by hand.....no machine for me to use). It has 7 pleats int the "X-Kilt" fashion but unlike the white one I made, the pleats come together at the waist. Whip-stitching them is a pain in the butt and right now, they look like crap (IMO) but I will go over them again to clean them up. I'll get that done sometime this week end. I made the inner and outer aprons double-thick (2 layers) because the material is kind of thin - and since the material's selvedge is a white border, I cut that off and folded over the material to make a hem...and then used that iron-on seam tape to seal the edge. All that I have to do is cut out and sew on the waistband along the top edge and sew the aprons down (where they meet the pleats).       Thoughts?

LOL......thanks. WalMart is loving me right now and they have several other - "odd" - prints I'm thinking of making more from
 . I think I'll need 4 more Kilts to add to the ones I have, that would make 7 for me in total.I'll be wearing these at OK DDay in 09 as well because since I'll be there the entire week...well...one must change his Kilt daily because like wearing underwear for more than one day is just..........nasty......
