Not really... I rarely get shot out anymore.

I get bounced a little... but maybe 2 breaks in one night of playing... maybe 15 or so games. Rec games though...

ive never seen that strap before, it looks like the SP logo...

and yes, i made my own soft ears. the electrical tape is there so that the material lasts longer (it rips pretty easily if you dont put the strap in right)

If it rips easy when you don't put the strap in right... how's it going to hold up to a paintball at close range? Have you experimented with it yet?

no, i mean the inside corners rip sometimes when you pull the mask through too hard or at the wrong angle (made a few trial and error runs...) and i put the rest of the tape around the edges because i didnt like how it looked with black on only a part of it. i havent used it in a game yet, but wearing it on top of various layers of headgear it holds up fine with the tape in place. its kind of complicated to explain how i reinforced the strap hole with tape, but its all one piece.
