Screen Names

[Critical]

My original screen name was Paradox, but that was on a couple of WWIV BBS forums in New England in the mid 90's. I got the name because I was Goth, but seemed normal (hence, a paradox) and, because I wore a pair of 10-hole Doc Maertens (Pair-of Docs).

Then I moved to Downshift, because I had gotten a reputation as something of a daredevil behind the wheel, and everytime I started talking about an experience, it always started with "I downshifted and floored it..." which is how I drove.

Now, It's Critical, which I almost regret, because I didn't know at the time that there was a paintball company by the same name, but I chose the name because I'm a negative, pessimistic, opinionated, a-hole.
