Taping the barrel?

Hello,

I've read threads about taping the vent holes at the end of the barrel. I think I'm going to try this on one of my stock barrels. Will it affect the accuracy any by not letting the gas escape before the end of the barrel?

I have both the J&J 14" and 20" I understand the vents are there for a reason and I really don't notice a difference in accuracy between the 14 and 20 inch barrels. They do seem much quieter as a result of the escaping gas I'm sure.

I also like the louder sound, Like I've read in the past it keeps the rec baller's heads down.
