If I remember right, 9 volts won't work because they actually put out 7. something.

Hows about you either start helping people or actually contributing to threads before you get banned for trolling.

Can't? or can?

9 volts actually put out 8.4 volts. If you use a standard 9 volt it will only last about 400 shots. Don't ask how I know this (always recharge your 9.6v before a day of paintballing).

From looking at battery specs, (Geez, I feel like a nerd) the Kingman/Java 9.6 rechargable battery is a 170 mAh NiHM battery....

so... I would think that a matching battery, such as these would work. If someone has tried another 170 mAh (or higher) battery and it just doesn't cut it, let me know. From looking a lot of regular 9V batteries only run on 120 -150 mAh. So I would assume those are the 8.4v and the regular duracel 9V batteries.

The mAH stands for Milliamp Hours. This is how long the battery can run at a certain voltage. The higher the mAH the longer the battery will last. I just ordered a 230mAH 9.6volt and I will let you know how it works out. The charge time will be longer, probably 11 hours instead of 8.
