Question on Regulators and Tanks

Did a lot of reading in the past months and coupled with personal experience so I'm swapping to HPA and LP setup - soon I hope. I'm looking at a big tank - so this one comes into picture:
PMI 88CU fixed LP tank

But you guys will understand why I'm turned off by looking at the price. Add the fact its a fixed LP tank - I can't play with the pressure output.

I know there are a good amount of affordable in line regulators on the market, but will a reg+normal HPA tank give the same amount of yield in terms of shots per fill compared to the tank above.

I'm pretty sure I don't have to pay as much for an in-line reg + a normal 3000psi 72ci alum tank. I'd like suggestions from you guys.
