double firing

when i fire my pilot acs on semi, sometime it will double or triple fire. i put a dime behind the solenoid which mostly solved the problem but it will still double fire occasionally(1 ball, 2 shots of air). any suggestions?

Check your sear.

i checked it and it wasnt very worn down. neither was the hammer where the sear catches it.

trigger bounce perhaps?

i have tried adjusting the trigger to many positions and it will still double fire the same amount with a very long trigger pull or a very short one

I have a nephew who has a pilot with stock grips and if he squeezes too hard where the solonoid is it "extra fires". Try taking out the dime and/or shimming with thinner things like washers.

i have dye stickies, would that have anything to do with the problem?

-no. it's tough to trouble-shoot something when you don't have it in your hands; the best you can do is give suggestions and eliminate possibilities one at a time. All I can say is the general stuff; clean & lube everything, charge the battery, make sure the sear and hammer have crisp edges, check the 'noid for proper function, and make sure everything is in good working order.
