Newbie Question - Ball Jam?

Can anyone please help? I now have 4 Spyder ACE markers and I have been experiencing a very annoying problem. Balls keep exploding in the chamber, at the point where the hopper "tunnel" enters the barrel chamber. The ball explodes and required the gun and hopper to be torn apart and cleaned. Often the ball explodes and enters the hopper, requiring the entire hopper to be emptied. This is happening on all 4 guns. I have tried 3 types of paint, with one performing a little better.

What is wrong? bad paint, dirty gun (I have cleaned, oiled, etc), bad parts, CO2 versus better gas?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since I am new to the paintball thing, we are using the cheapie hoppers. I have purchased a decent electric hopper ($150 or so) but have not used it, since I am missing a darn adapter that attaches it to the top of the marker.

So, you may think its the cheapie hopper that causes the paintballs to misfire and explode in the chamber?

the problem is that you are shooting faster than your hopper is feeding causing the gun to fire when only half of a paintball is in the breach causing the moving bolt to "cut" the paintball in half while the other half of the paintball is still in the feedneck (the tube running up to the hopper)

solutions:

1. buy an electric hopper (Viewloader Evlution, Halo B, Pulse, Reloader B) that will feed paint into the gun at high speeds (anywhere from 15-30 bps depending on the hopper)
2. either buy an anti chop bolt or one up that with anti chop eyes.
3. shoot slower

EDIT: just read that you bought an electric hopper for $150, try using that, although you will still get a chop every now and then it will help drastically. what kind of hopper is it? im guessing a Halo B

Doubt it. Sounds like a pulse or something.

Get a new bolt, assuming the eyes are working, chops shouldn't occur from slow feedrate, they could however occur from blowby and odd air currents.

www.alamocitypb.com has the best bolts for the price, be sure to get one with either 2 or 3 o-rings.

Thanks to all for the assistance. I have now purchased new high q neck feed and another electric hopper. If the problem still happens, I will purchase the new bolt.
