the vs3 has milling on the top that hangs over the barrel which the vs2 does not. because of this most barrels with a medium to large outside circumferance will not fit under that "lip" and screw in.

make sure the back side of the j&j barrel is NOT the thicker version. It will not fit, unless you get the thinner one. I suggest you have an airsmith at your local proshop remove the body lip, over the barrel removed, that way you can use any barrel kit. It will well worth the money
