Hey, is there a way to save a short vid as a .gif file? If there is can someone please tell me?

.gif is usually a "movie" that is made up of a TON of clips to display some sort of motion. Like my old avatar, it was a .gif and it was made out of a ton of clips to make it seem like it was moving smoothly. So if you want to save the movie as .gif, open something like imageready by photoshop, cut the video into a ton of clips, then save it. other than that, i dont know of any other way

download it on adobe's website. not sure where the link is, but there should be a trial version of Photoshop, that should include Imageready. Honestly, it is too much trouble for what you get out of it.

jasc animation shop, it comes bundled with jasc paintshop pro which comes with many windows xp packages.

Export the movie as still frames at 10-15 frames/sec, then use ImageReady or another program to make the animated GIF. It is limited to 256 colors though, so it may appear grainy.
