i have purchased a spyder mr4 a while back, and i have in the last few months upgraded it tremendously. upgrades include: spyder rocking trigger, bi pod, forgrip, collapsible stock, 22 inch barrel, red dot sight, and a pinokio hopper. all of which i love and though the gun is beefed out it has done me well. the most recent upgrade was switching from co2 to hpa. now originally i thought the velocity setting was no big change and of course i was very irritated when my gun acted more like a flame thrower then a sniper. now i have fixed the problem and i am shooting between 275 and 290 fps depending on the field i am at. the issue i am currently having and have had for a while, including on co2, is i am chopping still. maybe every 40th ball. not enough to effect my gun greatly, but enough to make me want to fix it. is there an acs bolt? is there something i am doing wrong? i take regular maintenance and the gun is in great condition. can someone help me with my issue or direct me to what i need done?
thank you ziggy |

does it occur when you shoot at a high rate of fire? are you using good quality paint?

the paint is marbleizer and it happens in low fire rates as well as high fire rates.

If you want to chop more and have velocity issues too, get the ACS bolt -
![]() Face it, it's prolly going to occasionally chop. With the RT I'd have to guess it's a mechanical bounce prob. That trigger frame has a high chance of bouncing. If it is bouncing you want to adjust the trigger screws away from the microswitch levers a bit. Pretty sure the RT board has a 25bps cap as well. Can the Pinochle hopper keep up with that? Never had one. You might want to check the detents as well. Always good to have some spares when it's using the rubber nubbies, They tend to wear out quicker than the old better designed steel ball detents - Chopping is a dime a dozen. Could be many different things. Just try one thing at a time till it stops. If you do a bunch of things at once and it stops, you'll never know why it was chopping -

Have you tried replacing the detents? also, it may be the barrel. the barrel might be to small of a bore for the marker. so, as a result you get somewhat inconsistant fps rate, and some paintballs break inside the barrel. i think you need to get a larger bore barrel, like a cp 16 inch. ifyou have an electric hopper, that might be forcing the paintballs too much, causing them to feed one, but chop the bottom off another. if that doesnt work, then you can try replacing o rings. that always works.

im not sure the type of bolt mr4s have but i know on most newer spyders you cant use the old type acs bolts. and barrel breaks are not the same as chops. if it was a barrel break, chances are there would be very little paint in the breech. as for helping with your problem, just like everyone else said check your detents, other than that, im not sure

check detents more likly then not, the stock bolt eats those stock yellow detents like thier nothing.

Did anyone mention an electric hopper? If it is chops and not just a barrel break, then that'll solve it.
