![]() i know i really don't have to put honest in the title, you guys are awesome about that kinda stuff...
anway...i am planning on joining a college paintball team, its kinda low key, but they do do some bigger tournaments, so i was wondering if the electra 09 would be a decent gun to get... -its only $200 -it seems to be a very solid gun, i've seen reviews that say it keeps up with the expensive gus. -it can work on co2 (for when i am at home in the country playing wit my highschool friends) so basically, what can a 400-500 dollar gun do that the electra can't??? oh, and, are there any other...better...guns out there that run on co2?? or is the electra the best gun that runs co2? thanks again! |

![]() Well, you're kinda in a kink there going for a tournament grade marker without HPA. While CO2 is perfectly fine for rec ball, I'd NEVER, EVER use it for a tournament. It can only expand for a ROF of 18bps when it's warm outside, but when it gets cold, that number drops rapidly. With an Electra '09, you MIGHT not have this issue, but you would be a fool to think that you're exempt from it.
I'd personally get an Alias and run it on HPA. $200-250, and it's fast and efficient. Plop a NecroRam inside, and it's ubber efficient, ubber fast, ubber smooth, and ubber quiet.

and yes, co2 is the only option i've got at home, the closest paintball shop is almost an hour away, and i have a welder, (with a huge co2 tank) and a fill station. i just made a sweet course out in the woods oh, and i am going to the University of Wisconsin Platteville, you may have heard of them, i think they are acutally ranked kind of high...pretty sure their team name is the pioneers, seeing as how that is the school name |

![]() If you only can use CO2 then the 09 Electra would probably be the best gun you can buy that will run on CO2. The nearest Paintball store for me is a few hours away and I like to use a bit higher end guns so I bought a compressed air tank and a fill station. It's just an idea if you do want to use better guns.

![]() A set-up for Scuba filling would run you about $400. You'd need one tank for bulk fills, one tank for topping off, and a fill station.
