Unhappy Spyder Pilot Bolt

I got my son a Spyder Pilot for Christmas and he has used it a few times and loves it... The problem is that I guess the pin that was holding the bolt in place was jumping out on him and he kept playing with it... Now the pin is mangled and I had to pull it all the way out to get the bolt out this last weekend. It has bent the lip on the slot up enough that it shaved a little off the bolt when I pulled it out too. That can be shaved down so it is flat again, but I have been having a hard time finding another bolt assembly so we can start playing again...

The local Spyder authorized repair shop said that the only thing that they could do is send it back for repair... What a rip off.

Thanks for any help.

John

Hello and welcome to the forums. As with any forum, a little searching yields great info. Just a few threads under yours here, is mine:

You'll find the cocking pin is a common issue and can be remedied with some time and elbow grease. Alternatively, you could keep an allen wrench in your pocket to re-cock it. It can do double duty as a wrench also! Good luck and don't forget to clean & lube regularly.

My pin came out too and I use an allen wrench. I'm not sure where they sell pins but I have seen them around for around $5.00.
