Default Chronooo

yesterday me, my dad and a few of my friends went paintballin.

My dad hit the chrono and his gun was shooting like 120-150

but then i took his pilot for a spin with my qloader and i was hittin like 230-250

Why was his gun measuring so low?

My idea:He had his barrel too far forward on the chrony.

could be. i cant remember the exact physics for it, but after the initial acceleration, your velocity starts to drop a lot.

Was your dad using a gravity fed hopper? I believe that the Q loader is force fed. If so i think it would stop some of the blow back (air traveling up the feed neck). Therefore more air would be directed towards the ball thus increasing velocity. I'd try it again with the gravity fed hopper and see what you get. Just a theory...

I don't know that the location of the barrel would have anything to do with the registered velocity. At least not that dramatic of an effect...

Weird one time I chrono'd my pilot with the hardest spring from my spring kit it measured 290. Measured again with the lightest spring and it jumped to 400 no lie. The refs were just confused as i was. Anybody have any insight to this? I was using hpa also.

Sounds like a case of mixed-up springs....
