Hello again my brothers and sista's, got another question, since I have just ran 200 rounds through my Rodeo for the first time, I was wondering does the temperature of the barrel have any effect on the trajectory of the paint. I am using draxxus recsport and a smart-parts teardrop 14" with CO2, I had alot of dips and dives and curve ups, but alot went straight as well. Is this normal. Outside ambient temp was about 48 degrees and snow was coming out the end of the barrel making the barrel really frigid. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and thank you for input on Oiling components

when the paintballs get cold they shrink, thats most likly the cause of them curveing, barrel temp shouldnt have too much of an effect b/c they are only in the barrel for a few mili-seconds.

Well, the barrel? Not really. Mainly, if you are using co2,the carbon dioxide and oxygen changes into a gas from a liquid and makes the tank and your internals really cold. This may cause some tiny misfunctions of the way it shoots, but no major problems. Sometimes it will make your balls go like crazy when they come from the barrel (very inaccurate), but it gets better as the temperatures shoot up into the 80's and 90's. And sometimes the balls shrink, making the match of barrel to balls very slim. Welcome to the forums.

Sounds like a case of inconsistent paint to barrel match along side of the unstable nature of C02, then add cold weather and voila.......crazy shots. Do you have an anti-siphon in the tank? -

from the looks of it he doesn't have any anti siphon, coz if he did he shouldn't be shooting like that.
If snow is coming out of your barrel that means your sucking in liquid co2 and that's not good both for your shots and your gun. |

...He may be shooting to high on his FPS settings as well.

Cold metal = condensation... You very likely could have water condensing in the barrel... HPA is your best bet(you can pick up a 48/3000 tank for ~$30 if you look) or you should at least antisyphon your CO2...

I've seen tanks for more like $40-55.
