That's what I like to hear. I'm the same with my first Rodeo too and not just because it was my first Spyder. I got into paintball just after it came out and I just fell in love with the way it looked, the milling simply appealed to me, and that was before I discovered that modifications and upgrades were even possible. Since then I've got a few Rodeo bodies for other projects. (One day I might actually get round to completing them!

)
You can't go wrong with Tippmann markers aswell. There's lots of nice mods for them. If there isn't a specific reason for getting the 98 and depending on which 'direction' you're going I would recommend the A5. I'm a bit biased though. I have a few A5s and no 98s.
BTW What sort of upgrades were you looking for for your Rodeo? Did you have a particular plan? (e.g. going low pressure, reducing kick, increasing shot count per tank, etc.)
