Just to follow up on my own question, I did end up purchasing this kit and it works wonders for my Spyder. I own a CP (.685 bore), an oldschool 14" Dye, an oldschool 16" Dye Boomstick, and a 14" J&J Ceramic S2 barrel, and the Apex 2 is leaps and bounds ahead of all of them. Not because of the 'trick shots' it promotes, but just from the ability to shoot straight for crazy far distances.
I was able to nail people clear across the field by aiming straight at them, no arcing. I may be selling my other barrels soon, as this one is the clear winner. It is by far the single best upgrade on a gun I've ever seen.
