Yes, the Xtra could handle HPA, actually HPA is better for your gun's internals than co2, not to mention more consistant. HPA would be a great upgrade, even in you don't plan on doing anything else to your gun. CO2 will work fine as well if you don't want to spend the extra money on HPA.
