I agree in that get something that you can match the paint to bore size with as close as possible.
I have had excellent results with Stiffi barrels, Freak and All American kits and CP as well.

I say get the right barrel kit or don't bother at all. The advantage is only there if you get the right barrel to paint match.
However, I have had very good experience with a Stiffi barrel .689...
