Not true. They did an experiment testing that on Mythbusters. One of the guys got bit quite a few times, and even though it hurt, with all the bites he got, he was fine.

Oh, I know I will. The crappy part is I won't be able to order a tank till next week.
I did notice the trigger is weak sauce though. First upgrade will be the VP scythe.

Don't worry, CO2 will never touch the Ion. The CO2 tank is in the pic because I had my Xtra sitting in the case until the Ion came in.
