have you tried restricting a bit of the air flow, by using the stock valve pin into the NDZ HP valve ?
you may need to up the PSI a little for recocking , but may get your velocity down to 250fps...

also mabe you should know the legal limit is 300 fps or below, over 300 fps is dangerous .
some fields have a limit of 250/260

X'rings are ok for use on none moving parts,
ie..valve , VA

not so good for bolts and striker, as i have experienced.

If you want my opinion , forget them, stick with the O'rings.

did you screw the cupseal onto the valve pin properly ?

take the valve out , and place the valve pin in.
see if the cupseal's face is flush with the valves body where they meet up.
a small scratch...

firstly check your gas bottle is screwed in all the way. and that it does'nt come loose when firing the marker.

next check if you can hear any gas leaks from the barrel, hoses, etc...

check O'rings...

i would,nt recommend using any form of sandpaper,
just use some kind of polish like i suggested previously to get a shine for smooth operation.

make sure the nail varnish is totally dry before putting O'rings back on.

ive used car polish on the inside of my marker only the once which came out pretty well, like glass.
Regards to deep scratches, i would,nt worry too much about it, as long as the bolt or striker does...

From 210 fps to 385 fps ?
is the chrono reading and working fine ? 175 fps difference ?

look for a bolt with O-Rings.
Hint....IPS sunbear bolt rocks...;)

stock marker at HP = small burst of air @ HP

If u can walk the trigger fast, and goin LP = more volume of air...

try a medium valve , light main.
this will lower the dwell = less volume @slightly higher pressure.
what pressure are u running ?
is the gauge accurate ? mabe the gauge could be off ?
try another...

i own both..

if both guns are stock, i would go towards the ION, but thats only my personal preference, as each has there own tastes..

now when upping these , i found the Electra to be a lot more...
