Just 1 shot thing is prolly the battery needs to be charged. If it doesn't have the Spyder rechargeable(just a regular alkaline) you need the rechargeable or it'll never work right. if you overcharge...

If it's exactly what's shown on the link you left, that is the VS version Tadao upgrade. There is another for the Pilot and Electra but the jumper is on the underside of the board -

I'm sure you could use the ones from the MR2 or MR3 as covers. He'd need the plastic cover from the left and the feedneck w/coverplate attached from the right -

What color is the board? If it's semi only, it's prolly just missing the tourney switch jumper. It may be some other board besides the Tadao board -

Oh crap, I fergot.......don't even have to load it. All you need to do is hang the ball follower just like you do when you load it, just leave it there for a while -

The term cutting springs alway makes me feel uneasy. :( Maybe it's just that once you do it, you can't undo it. Why not just load up a mag full and leave the spring compressed for a while till it...

Far as breaks go, did you check the paint to bore relationship? Could be the clip spring is new and a little tense. That could push balls through the half nubby detents...

You can't even think about an LP conversion w/o a reg and high flowing valve first. They are 2 absolute necessities before you can even consider getting started. Adjustable tank just won't cut it -
