What does a "striker buffer" do part#stf001
 

I just purchased a VS1 w/ electronic trigger. When i fire the marker it will not recock. I have inspected the O rings and they look fine, I have a full CO2 tank also. I did notice the "striker buffer" (part#STF001) is missing between the striker & the velocity adjustment piece. What is the purpose of this piece & if missing would this cause a recocking issue?
Thanks for any input, this is suppost to be a gift so I wanted to get operational ASAP.

To answer the question, its designed to prevent the hammer from "bouncing" off the rear of the body faster then the sear can catch it.
Most guns can still run without one, its just helps them run a bit better.
The Striker buffer doesn't seem to be the problem. Try a fresh battery.

speaking from experience: if you take out the striker buffer, you risk ramming the striker into the velocity adjuster, and that can cause the metal of the adjuster to wrap around the quick strip pin, causing the adjuster to mushroom and get stuck in the lower tube.

Thank both of u for ur replys. I did go pick up a replacement buffer today and some marker lube and waaa la .. no more issue. I oiled the Striker & Delrin Bold O Rings. Knock on wood, she seems to be fine regarding the initial problem. Now its something different,the E trigger is tappin every time(when Im walking it) but its not firing each time, hopefully its just something simple like the low voltage not making the solenoid hit hard enough. Charging it up now. i'll repost later.

PS In my case I think Talon was right on striker flying past the sear to quickly. Thanks again

Did you figure out what was wrong my Vs2 is doing kinda the same thing

adjust your trigger, or it maybe your micro switch.
