I try to idle in IRC, but apparently SOC has some weird schedules. I will be in there everyday during regular work hours.

hmm, i learned that in pidgin when you have a chat closed and someone says your name, it wont pop open with the chat, just leaves you a notification at the top like a new IM message. took me 12h to see your ping doc.
