08 Pilot Marker Setup
I play with a small group of friends in an indoor arena (2 floors, lots of bunkers, barrels, etc.) and am looking for an accurate compact marker that I can lower to 230fps (running compressed air). I'm not looking for a 30 bps marker and my experience so far has been with rented A5's. I am mainly looking for something accurate that is not bulky.

After reading a majority of the threads here I have a couple of questions on how I would do this with a Pilot. This would be my first marker and that's why I'm asking these questions.

1. I've read through the manual and I don't know if the gun operating pressure is 500 or 800psi? I've read different threads but don't know if they are talking about the 08 or older models. I am trying to figure out if I need a High Pressure or Low Pressure tank. Am assuming high pressure stock.

2. It seems like a logical upgrade to make the marker consistent would be an improved regulator. Question I have is if the marker runs at 800 psi, do I need a regulator which can handle 800 psi? I've looked at the CP regulator but it only runs to 300psi. And the dye runs up to 650psi. I've looked at others suggested on the site as well.

3. I need to get the marker down to 230 fps and the manual states that it will run down to 240 fps. Does this mean I need to change the spring rates to get the extra 10 fps lowered? From what I can gather, you want a lighter valve spring and a medium main spring? And may help with recoil as well.

I have other questions on how to pair this all up but I'll start with these for the moment. I would be adding an aftermarket barrel, asa and powered loader. I've spent the last couple weeks reading as many threads as I could and I'm informed just enough to make me dangerous...hahaha.

Any help from you guys would be appretiated.

Re: 08 Pilot Marker Setup
high pressure air tank, reg good idea, I'm not shure at what it operates at. I think that you will want or need a full spring kit, that can also lower your opperating pressure.

Re: 08 Pilot Marker Setup
Thanks for the input Griff. From other post I've read, I am assuming that the CP regulator will work. If I reduce this marker to 230 fps is it going to shoot straight for 100 feet or so. Or will any marker at this fps shoot noodles all over the place.

I hate it when I can see a guy and I'm putting paint down in a 2 foot radius of where he is. Some how the same guy popped up once and hit me square in the mask. This indoor place is booked for a small group every week and we don't dump a lot of paint through the guns. Accuracy is key for us in this arena.

Any ideas?

Re: 08 Pilot Marker Setup
1. A barrel kit, Paint to barrel match For indoor I would probly want12" (I use 14" woods ball)
2. Paint Quality
3. reg keeps pressure stable in marker
4. compressed air, not temp. affected
